Want: Alta One, Single Speed Bike

Alta Single Speed Bike

I’ve been searching for a rad single speed for a long time and I do believe I’ve found the bike I want. For about $1,000 I can own this piece of lime green machinery. It’s everything you need and nothing you don’t. Handlebars, Frame, Wheels & Pedals. Beyond that this beautiful piece of cycle art is a light weight road warrior ready to do your bidding on a daily basis. The best thing about these bikes is there isn’t a whole lot to break and they aren’t super expensive to fix when something does end up going on you. So if you want to express the inner courier in you be sure to check out these two wheeled wonder machines.

Want: Porsche Cayman S

Porsche Cayman S

Caution: this post might cause heart palpitations in those grease monkey’s and gear heads that read this blog.

This mid-engine, 6 cylinder, 321 horsepower, rear wheel drive, road tearing, corner hugging wonder machine is the latest edition to Porsche’s library of amazing vehicles. Did I mention it also comes in Lime Green? Yes sir may I have another? If I had $65,000 to blow I’d be heading down to Inskip Porsche right now and picking one up. I’d then jump on the highway and go racing up it until I ran out of gas (which probably wouldn’t take all that long). At any rate if you’re interested in more information head over to the Cayman S website and make sure you’ve got your drool cup with you.

Want: BookBook Air by TwelveSouth

BookBook Air

I’m always on the lookout for a new case for my MacBook Air and I think I found one. It’s called the BookBook Air and it’s made by TwelveSouth. It’s made to look like an old leather bound novel while at the same time protecting your fragile MacBook Air. This is easily one of the nicest cases I’ve ever seen for a MacBook Air and the best thing? They’re going to be making one for the iPhone. I can’t wait until they’re available because I want one pretty bad.

The folks at TwelveSouth make some seriously slick things for Mac users. They’re not only super creative but amazingly functional as well. Sure, the stuff comes with a bit of a price tag but as an Apple user you’re already used to that right?

Proud owner of a new Porsche

p9230_7

I bet you thought I was going to be talking about a new 911 Turbo or something eh? All the techno geeks that are reading this right now know exactly what I was talking about right?

After having major issues with my AEBS + Seagate (now known as shitgate) 1TB Drive I decided to get a new drive. After a lot of research I ended at the LaCie Porsche Designed 1TB Drive. So what happened with the shitgate? Apparently the Mac Firmware is so bad you can’t manage the awake/asleep time with the energy saver preferences within system preferences on your mac. And on top of that the GoFlex Dashboard also isn’t available for Mac users, just PC users. With that being said the drive would keep falling asleep on me after about 5mins. I’m on a MacBook Air and my music library is too large for the MBA so I like streaming from my HDD + AEBS to my AppleTV and then through my TV. It’s great while I’m doing work, cooking, reading, etc. Plus I have a killer sound system here. So as you can imagine this was a major issue for me and I still feel like it’s a major issue for everyone thinking about buying a Shitgate Drive. This issue is also all over their user forums and there is no fix. Ugh!

Enter the LaCie Porsche Designed P’9320. It’s a sexy brushed Aluminum piece of hardware that is now resting comfortably next to my AEBS and I haven’t had an issue with it yet. It keeps spinning and doesn’t skip a beat. The guys at the Apple Store were awesome and tried to get me to buy a G-Drive. That could be my next buy but we’ll see. One can never have too much space right? For just over $100 bucks I managed to get a great drive with great support from an amazing company. I’m thrilled and if things keep going this way my next purchase will be the super sexy LaCie Cloud Box. It’s exactly what it sounds like. Everytime you back something up to the drive it backs up to LaCie’s Cloud Service. Wicked.

Anyways, if you’re in the market for a new drive head to your local Apple Store and check this one out. You won’t regret it I promise.
